With a goal to build a stronger network among policy experts and academics in Asia, the Asian Public Administration Forum (APAF) was launched in Seoul on January 29th, 2009.

APAF provides a gathering place for scholars, policy-makers, business leaders, and NGO activists in Asian countries.
In addition to developing research programs and collaborations to address various challenges that Asian countries' public administrations face, APAF aims to serve as an umbrella association for individual countries' forums for public administration.

The current membership covers 17 countries: Cambodia, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. APAF also works closely with the Korean Association for Public Administration (KAPA) has encouraged excellence in research, teaching, and practice in the field of public policy and public management since its establishment in 1956.
